Eastern Division Convention a big success
New Jerseyans play major role
Division President Brent Miller and his Convention Committee brought off a well attended and most successful 2008 Eastern Division Hartford Convention, Feb. 14 through 16. There were concerts by six invited ensembles--Amarcord, Lumen valo from Finland, musica intima, Pomerium, the Woodley Ensemble, and Vocalogy--and eleven concerts by well prepared auditioned choirs from seven states. This was the first Eastern convention with four different honor choirs (ACDA's first ever Gospel Honor Choir added to Junior High, High School, and College/University choirs.) The no fewer than thirty-five separate interest sessions covered a wide range of interest and topics, and involved additional choruses and performances. There was a healthy contingent of NJACDA members, both as general delegates and as active particpants.
